Ah, my soap studio. It should be a haven of creativity, but for the last few months it's been a center of farmer's market chaos and the everlasting soap scraps. Y'know, the little ends and bits that I want to test but I can only test so many at a time so they're all lined up.
I decided to do a mini-makeover--painting. Sometimes just a little thing like that can make a load of difference.
Here is the before picture. (I purposely left a mess for a more dramatic contrast!) The picture doesn't show it well, but the walls were a pinkish-peach color with metallic gold stencil trim. Not bad, but it was old and needed a new look--one that was more "me."

And ta-da! The after picture. No shock to anyone who knows me that it's green. And I sorted through every little thing, got rid of what I didn't use, and streamlined my supplies and equipment so I'm more efficient and stress-free. Nice thought, anyway. And look, the color even matches my scale (on the shelfby the radio)!
And what do you do with a clean kitchen? Make a huge mess, of course.
So nice! What an awesome space!
ReplyDeleteHow great that you have your own little soaping space!!! I'm still in my kitchen, and dining room, and breakfast area, and basement, and...oh yes, the living room too. :) Love the new look!! I hope it stirs much creativity and happiness. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it, it's nice and tidy and I like the green colour. Your inspiring me to do some cleaning now. Oh how I know the joys of market chaos where you are making new product and then scrambling to get it all packaging and packed up and find your workshop looks like a disaster zone.

How great to have your own space...looks great and I'm with you on the color green. I would have every room in my house green if I could!
ReplyDeleteYep, same as Amy W., I'm in my study room, kitchen, garage, living room & my bed room. It'd be a dream to have everything in ONE room... well, just keep going & dreaming hard :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to have your very own space. I love the new look you gave it, it's very stylish!
ReplyDeleteI totally love it!! And I'm totally jealous! I wish I had a space just for soaping. What heaven that would be. Maybe someday. Heck I,d be happy to get it in one room..lol. Until then I will admire the space of others :) I really like the green. I have been thinking of that color when we remodel the main bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that so many of you talented soapers don't have rooms set aside for all your "stuff"....how do you do it?!?! My room is actually bigger--this is just one side of it. It's hard enough to contain everything, even with a specified room!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful green! So calming and so inspiring too. I love it! Some day I will have my own space! ha!
